Peter H. Briggs has been a Managing Director of Shareholder Strategies, Inc., a valuation and financial consulting firm, since 1994. From 1989 to 1994, Mr. Briggs was the Director of Financial Services for ESOP Services, Inc., a specialty ESOP consulting firm. Prior to joining ESOP Services, Mr. Briggs was a Project Leader in the Billing and Revenue Accounting Center of Sprint.

Mr. Briggs has lectured dozens of times at national and regional conferences on ESOPs and their interplay with financial issues. He is the author of a chapter on Valuation in Employee Stock Ownership Plans, by Robert Smiley and Ronald Gilbert. Mr. Briggs is an Emeritus Member of the Finance Committee of the ESOP Association and has been a member of the National Center for Employee Ownership since 1994.

Mr. Briggs has provided expert witness testimony in two different $100 million litigation cases, both centering on the valuation of company shares. Since 1999, each of the valuation assignments undertaken by SSI has been conducted by Mr. Briggs.  These number more than one thousand.

Mr. Briggs holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the Darden School.
